The Dasharath Rangasala, located in Kathmandu, Nepal, is a historic stadium known for hosting various sporting events, including football matches and athletics competitions. It has a seating capacity of over 15,000 spectators and has been a hub for sports and entertainment in the region since its establishment in 1956. Over the years, the stadium has witnessed numerous memorable moments in Nepali sports history, making it a cherished venue for athletes and fans alike.
The Kathmandu Yetis embarked on a journey of competitive football, representing Nepal with pride. In 2018 and 2019, they displayed their prowess with consecutive playoff appearances, reaching the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. The 2020 season saw another strong performance as they secured a 7th place finish. However, in 2021, the Yetis made a remarkable leap, finishing 2nd in the league and reaching the championship game, despite falling short of the title. The 2022 season brought an unexpected turn as the team relocated to Atlanta, finishing with a challenging 3-9 record and missing the playoffs. After the season, they made a triumphant return to Nepal, leaving a lasting legacy of determination and sportsmanship.
